10th El Haddawi International Winterschool 2010

February 16th, 2010 − February 21st, 2010

Time

Ways of Being

This year we are especially pleased to announce our annual Winterschool, because it will be the 10th International El Haddawi Winterschool. It will take place from February 16th, 2010 to February 21st, 2010 at the island convent „Abtei Frauenwörth“ on the lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, Germany. El Haddawi invites you to experience a confluence of theaterwork, dance and bodywork as an expression of practical spirituality. With Ingo Taleb Rashid and the following guest lecturers:

  • Lee Ordeman (USA),
actor, dancer. martial artist and journalist.
    "Body timing"
  • Marco Luly (Italy),
stage director, actor and teacher of Commedia del Arte.
"Commedia dell' Arte's energy and timing"
  • Ana Mondini (Brazil),
    choreographer, dancer and teacher
    "Time and Memory"

Our experience teaches us that time is more than an abstract measurable phenomenon outside of ourselves. Depending on the situation we have a much differentiated experience of time. We are able to gain and loose time, we can waste it or even sacrifice it. Our experience and understanding of time leads to basic questions of our existence. How can we use our given time constructively? Is it so important to be constantly in touch with the past and future, or is it more beneficial to fully enter into the never-returning moment of Now?

Through exercises from different spiritual traditions and bodywork systems, we will use our bodies as gates to open and experience our inner spaces. Acting, dance, movement improvisation as well as elements from the martial arts, will open new levels of practical experience for body, spirit and soul.

In addition to seminars taught by Ingo Taleb Rashid, there will be classes and lecture-demonstrations taught by the invited lecturers. There will also be an opening ceremony, performances and a final music and dance concert. Accommodation and meals will be provided on site.

The tuition fee for the whole seminar will be €440 (starting with the opening at 16/2 at 18.00, ending at 21/2 after lunch) including all classes, lectures and special events.
Fees for accommodation, meals and transportation are separate.
Early registration (until January 16th, 2010) and payment of the non-refundable deposit of €200 will reduce the total tuition paid to €380.
Partial attendance: It is possible to participate in the Winterschool’s first half (16/2 opening/18.00 –19/2 lunch) or second half (19/2 supper – 21/2 lunch): Tuition for half the event is €260, or €230 with early registration.

The Winterschool can be booked as a starting seminar for the Movement Concept® educational program 2010.
